Students must be in the 11th or 12th grade and be 16 years old by the first day of school to enroll. Students learn how to provide pre-hospital emergency care and transportation for sick and injured people. The EMT course consists of 154 hours of lecture and practical classwork. Along with class work, the student will be required to complete clinical time before the competion of 1 course in a hospital or emergency room setting, or while riding along with an emergency ambulance crew.
